Located in the San Juan Archipelago of the Pacific Northwest, Orcas Island Feathered Horses is a 27-acre farm situated between salt water and Douglas Fir forests. Ron is a veterinarian and Maggie is passionate about choosing and training these fabulous horses. We are Lifetime members of the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society (GVHS). We entered the first ever Gypsy Vanner Horse Show which was held at the Oregon State Fair in August 2004, and not only brought home a blue ribbon, but also won an Easy-Entry cart for driving. Good conformation and strong pedigrees are the backbone of our horse enterprise, along with good minds and temperaments. Horses that are a joy to work and play with (as well as a pleasure to look at) are mandatory at Orcas Feathered Horses. Variations of Natural Horsemanship methods are used on our farm and have been extremely successful. We are accessible via ferry from Anacortes, WA (75 miles north of Seattle) or via air on West Isle Air, Kenmore Air and San Juan Airlines. We can help you with your travel arrangements if necessary. |
